New Supper Banana! arrives with a new update!

Linux support to Steam

The Steam version of New Supper Banana! finally has native Linux support. (The itchio version already had it.) The game worked perfectly using Steam Play (proton), but a well supported native version is always better. For example, the game opens faster.

The itchio version was changed from zip to appimage. Thanks to this, it should now work on any Linux distro. Also, extracting files is not needed, you can just double-click the file to start playing. (You might need to allow executing it as a program first. (Usually: Right-click -> Properties -> Permissions -> Allow executing file as program))

New hat in the Hat DLC

The Steam Hat-DLC has a new penguin hat! (Or will have soon when I update the Steam version.) Now your dreams of playing as a banana who has a penguin hat will be fulfilled.

Bug fixes, optimization and other improvements

Many bugs have been fixed and some optimization has been done, so there should be less frame drops on low end hardware.

Here is a detailed list of improvements:

• Fixed in level 3: “You can climb the wall from the right side and stand above it, but you can’t drop down to the coin”
• Fixed in level 6: “You can climb the right wall of the coin and stand above it, but you can’t drop down to the coin”
• Fixed in level 6: “You can climb this wall and stand on it but if you go to the far right, you’ll drop down and can’t get back up again (you have to get back to the main menu)”
• Fixed in level 9: “The hitbox of the ground isn’t flat on this spot”
• Fixed in level 10: “The hitbox of the ground isn’t flat on this spot”
• Fixed crash when jumping towards falling spike enemy
• Fixed not being able to see intro cutscene completely if exited game during it
• Optimization
• Edited levelselect screen a little (mostly to fix GameMaker’s linux bug, but it also looks nicer now)
